Patient questions
How often should I book hygiene?
Usually every 6 months. Patients with gum disease, orthodontic treatment or smoking may need every 3–4 months.
Is hygiene painful?
For healthy gums it is usually painless. Inflamed gums may be tender; topical anesthesia can be used if needed.
Does hygiene whiten teeth?
It removes deposits and surface stains, restoring the natural shade. It does not change the enamel color like whitening does.
