Periodontics

Healthy gums are the foundation of healthy teeth and a stable smile.

Periodontitis is one of the most common causes of adult tooth loss after caries. Early diagnosis and treatment can stop the process. We assess gum pockets and X-ray images to plan periodontal care.

Patient questions

Are bleeding gums a sign of periodontitis?

Bleeding while brushing is an early sign of gum inflammation. Untreated, it can progress to periodontitis and requires consultation.

Can periodontitis be cured?

It cannot always be reversed completely, but it can often be controlled effectively for decades with regular maintenance.

Is periodontitis genetic?

Predisposition can be partly genetic, but hygiene, smoking and systemic diseases such as diabetes are key factors.
