Patient questions
Does wisdom tooth removal hurt?
The procedure is done under local anesthesia. After anesthesia wears off, discomfort is usually managed with painkillers for 2–4 days.
How long is recovery after extraction?
The first 24 hours are key: do not smoke, drink through a straw or rinse vigorously. Full socket healing takes 2–4 weeks.
Can I return to work after extraction?
After a simple extraction, often the next day. After a difficult impacted wisdom tooth removal, plan 1–2 days off.
